It is my pleasure to invite you to join my group in the Department of Physics at Florida
International University as a visiting scholar for a period of 1 year from Sep. 1, 2019 to Aug. 31,
2020.
My group and I will be happy to collaborate with you to conduct research in the field of AMO
physics and Quantum Optics. In particular, you will be working on a project that studies manybody
physics in a cold-atom cloud. I believe that your strong academic background and English
language skills will make you a perfect fit in my research group, and our collaboration will be
successful.
During your visit, our department will provide you with campus access, library access, office
space and other necessary work related supports. You will have access to my research laboratory
and the equipment and software therein. I will also provide funds for direct research expenses
such as research parts and materials.
I am pleased to make this offer in recognition of your outstanding accomplishments at Shanxi
University. I hope very much that you will accept my offer. As we discussed, should you accept
my unofficial offer, a formal letter of commitment will then follow from the Dean’s office.
